| Driving the Tioga Road toward the eastern side of Yosemite, I saw the small roadside sign indicating Siesta Lake. Ansel Adams took a wonderful picture here, as had others, so I stopped to try my hand. There was a log along the edge of the lake that looked like the remains of one Adams had shot, but I couldn't make anything of it, so I started wandering the semi-trail around the edge of the lake. These small, high-altitude ponds are in the process of becoming meadows through sedimentation and plant growth, and the edges are pretty spongy. When I came to this spot, the pattern of the grass in the foreground and the vertical echo of the trees with their reflections across the lake worked well for me. I'd love to have spent most of a day there. |
| As most people seem to prefer them, prices are for framed prints, ready to hang. I use a very nice matt black wood frame 7/8 of an inch wide, with a white mat. If you would like to order unframed prints, go to the "Purchase" page for pricing. |
