| This old Bible lies on the pulpit of Palmer Chapel in Cataloochee Valley. I don't know how long it's been there - probably not since the '30's when the valley was taken over by the park, but I've been seeing it for several years, and each year it's a bit the worse for wear. I made a similar photo to this one day with my field camera and a 90mm lens, but it just didn't quite work, so I made another trip with the monorail camera and the 65mm lens. I made two negatives, but I must have moved a bit during one of the 4-minute exposures, because the other negative shows a double image. Fortunately, no other visitors showed up while the shutter was open. I love the melancholy feeling I get from this picture. |
| As most people seem to prefer them, prices are for framed prints, ready to hang. I use a very nice matt black wood frame 7/8 of an inch wide, with a white mat. If you would like to order unframed prints, go to the "Purchase" page for pricing. |
