| Just past Craggy Gardens on the Parkway stands this wonderful grove of beech trees with the Mountains-to-Sea trail running through it. The ground under the trees is covered in long, silky grass, and the trail meanders through, drawing the hiker onward through the trees to whatever lies beyond. The canopy is quite dense, making it feel almost like an indoor space. In the spring, the forest floor is dotted with trillium and other wildflowers. I've come here many times, but the pictures I like best were taken on foggy days. The fog adds mystery to the scene, and makes me want even more to go just a little further up the trail, just to see what's around the next bend. This is a spot I can easily imagine Frodo and Sam walking quietly through on their way to Mordor, with Gollum just out of sight behind them in the fog. |
| As most people seem to prefer them, prices are for framed prints, ready to hang. I use a very nice matt black wood frame 7/8 of an inch wide, with a white mat. If you would like to order unframed prints, go to the "Purchase" page for pricing. |
