| This is the newest land on Maui, created during an eruption below Haleakela around 1790. The ground is made of what feels and sounds and looks like the "clinkers" that people with coal furnaces had to clean out every so often. There are a very few tiny plants just starting to grow in this new land. I found the textures of the raw lava rock fascinating - the true chaos of creation. It's mind-boggling in a way to know that you're standing on land that didn't exist until after the American Revolution. Wow. |
| As most people seem to prefer them, prices are for framed prints, ready to hang. I use a very nice matt black wood frame 7/8 of an inch wide, with a white mat. If you would like to order unframed prints, go to the "Purchase" page for pricing. |
