| I've been fascinated by ferns for years, and have made a number of attempts at a fern photograph, trying to capture their delicacy and intricacy. This shot is from the Smokies, along the "Road to Nowhere", a trans-park road started, but not finished, intended to replace NC 288, a gravel road now deep under the waters of Fontana Lake. I would have been a second road across the park, connecting Bryson City and Fontana dam. It was stopped for a variety of reasons: money, the ecology of the area, and politics among them. The existing miles of the road are lightly traveled, and you can stop most anywhere without creating traffic problems. These delicate ferns grow right along the side of the road in several spots. |
| As most people seem to prefer them, prices are for framed prints, ready to hang. I use a very nice matt black wood frame 7/8 of an inch wide, with a white mat. If you would like to order unframed prints, go to the "Purchase" page for pricing. |
