| I was up at Mt. Pisgah one day on a newspaper assignment, had finished up and decided to wander through the campground, just to look around. That's what photographers do after all, just look around. I had been (and still am) looking for the quintessential fern photo. When I saw this grouping, with its sensuous curves, I thought, "This might be it". I had my 4x5 in the car, so I set up and exposed a couple of sheets of film. I felt pretty good about it, but it wasn't until I developed the film that I knew this shot was special. It remains one of my favorite photos, especially when printed larger than life-size. I love the harmonizing shapes of the ferns and the wealth of detail. In the lower right quadrant of the picture, there's a fly resting on a fern leaf, rendered in perfect detail. I still think there's a better fern picture somewhere in the future, but this is the best I've gotten so far. |
| As most people seem to prefer them, prices are for framed prints, ready to hang. I use a very nice matt black wood frame 7/8 of an inch wide, with a white mat. If you would like to order unframed prints, go to the "Purchase" page for pricing. |
