All prints are printed by me on double-weight fiber-based paper, archivally
processed, selenium toned, signed, numbered, and dry-mounted. Mats
are archival quality and acid free.  Actual print sizes may vary slightly.
This cherry tree grows along the moat that surrounds Matsumoto Castle outside the huge
stone wall that you can see in the background.  I had always heard about the reverence that
the Japanese have for cherry blossoms, but never understood it until I spent a couple of
weeks in Japan in April.  The trees are cherished and loved, and respond with a magnificent
display each spring.  I like the contrast between the softness of the blossoms and the hard
surface of the stone wall.
