| One day in early fall, I went for one of my favorite short hikes, to Rattlesnake Lodge (or where it used to be) off the Blue Ridge Parkway. The hike covers a couple of miles through a beautiful hardwood cove with trees of various ages and sizes, a small stream, and lush undergrowth. Just beside the trail I spotted this small beech tree just beginning its life journey, and even perhaps experiencing its first autumn. I love the shape of the tiny branches, and the contrasting shape of its leaves against the galax and other plants underneath. I think the photo has a soothing, quiet quality that I love to find. |
| As most people seem to prefer them, prices are for framed prints, ready to hang. I use a very nice matt black wood frame 7/8 of an inch wide, with a white mat. If you would like to order unframed prints, go to the "Purchase" page for pricing. |
